"Bathurst - A foretaste of heaven in twenty-eleven"

The 56th Annual RSCM Summer School Youth Course will be held from 4 - 11 January at All Saints' College, Bathurst, NSW.

David Russell

David completed a Bachelor of Music in Voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In his first and final years he was the recipient of the Horace Keats Memorial Scholarship for Singing. He sings regularly with the professional Sydney-based vocal ensemble Cantillation and is frequently in demand as a conductor, vocal coach and accompanist. He is currently undertaking a Master of Music Studies (Conducting) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he is the recipient of the Eugene Goosens Fellowship.

David sings with the Choir of Christ Church St Laurence, Sydney where he is also the Assistant Conductor. David has worked with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, the Choir of Christ Church St Laurence, The Song Company, the Sydney Children’s Choir, Gondwana Voices, the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra and Chorus (USA) and the Ochsenhausen Vocal Ensemble (Germany) and was Chorusmaster for the World Youth Day 2008 choir. He has studied conducting with Helmuth Rilling, David Hill, Simon Halsey, Gary Graden, Neil McEwan and Imre Palló and singing with Jane Edwards and Maree Ryan.

He is currently involved in the implementation of a new inter-school, extra-curricular performing arts initiative in the Catholic Education Office Diocese of Parramatta providing performance opportunities in music, dance and drama. David is a member of the RSCM NSW Branch Committee.
