RSCM Australia
RSCM Australia was born in the late 1990s out of a desire to bring together the former Australian branches of the Royal School of Church Music under a simple administration. At the same time there was a growing need to have a clearer focus on local challenges facing choirs and church music in Australia, both from ecumenical and contemporary points of view. There was also a desire to provide local branches with a greater and flexible autonomy in both planning and fostering programs to suit local situations.
RSCM Australia is an interdenominational association which aims to assist and to insire all who are concerned in any way with church music in Australia. RSCM Australia represents a national voice in chirch music, and aims to develop cooperative and formal links with the major church bodies in Australia. RSCM Australia encourages the composition and publication of church music and conducts educational activities in keeping with its goals.
